Sonic should be the only character
Writing a story that's serious will somehow hurt the game
Story doesn't matter(Even though yall still bitch over it)
Only gameplay matters(But ignore other games even when they have good gameplay, usually because you don't like the graphics)
And the biggest bullshit of them all- Sales =/= Quality.
^This here has to be the most retarded of all the bullshit, not because it's not completely false, but the fact that nobody ever sales sales = quality, and used as twisting tactic when people can't handle the fact that a game they don't like sells well, or even better then their game of choice. Matter of fact, Channeleleven actually made a good point about how sales actually does show the quality in a game due to how much people want to play it. Either way, it's an retarded argument because nobody ever claims that, and they just answer back with that cause they can't face reality. And 06 came out 10 years ago, get over fanboys. There's been many bad games throughout the years but they don't come up in every conversation like 06 does, which is almost everyday.
On another note, most of the guys who complain about 06 wont say shit about Sonic Boom despite also having glitches, but I bet they let that shit slide because the game don't take itself seriously and not edgy enough to piss off the nerds.

I agree, I'm tired of people saying story, canon or consistency doesn't matter in Sonic because he's a "silly cartoon hedgehog who runs fast". It's so fucking irritating. While I do disagree heavily with Nintendo not being cool (games like Star Fox, and Pokemon would like a word, hell even Mario is still very cool and interesting in his own right, Sonic just handles that differently), I agree with practically everything else. Sad how this argument holds up even today regarding the fandom.
