Sales don't mean quality, just that it was marketed well. Some of the most terrible stuff has still made a lot of money.
Take for instance, The Emoji Movie. That god awful movie, despite how critically panned it was, actually grossed $216.8 million. That's even more than great movies like John Wick Chapter 2, Atomic Blonde, American Made, and Kubo and the Two Strings. So I'm guessing by your logic, The Emoji Movie, of all things, is actually a really great movie.
